About Jade

Jade covers two minerals — jadeite and nephrite — both extraordinarily tough (tougher than diamond for striking, though softer for scratching). The Chinese, Maori, and Mesoamerican peoples all independently chose it as their most sacred crystal. This is no accident.

Chinese emperors were buried in jade suits. Mayan priests wore jade to the sun. Indian traders carried it along the Silk Road where it passed through Burma and Yunnan.

Healing Properties

An ancient crystal of harmony. Protects health, attracts gentle fortune, and supports long, steady effort.

Chakra & Element

Jade works primarily with the Heart chakra and the Earth element. This is why it tends to appear in healing work around heart-related concerns — the frequency of the crystal resonates with this energy centre.

How to Identify a Real Jade

Common fakes: Serpentine (often called ‘new jade’), dyed quartzite, dyed marble, glass.

How to tell the real thing: Real jade (nephrite or jadeite) is very hard — you cannot scratch it with a steel blade. It is cool, dense, and has a waxy lustre. Dyed quartzite shows colour pooled in cracks. When two jade beads are tapped together, they make a soft musical ring.

At Agni Crystals, every piece is hand-inspected for authenticity before it’s listed. If you’re unsure about a crystal you bought elsewhere, send us a photo on WhatsApp — we’ll tell you honestly.
