How to Identify a Real Clear Quartz
Common fakes: Leaded glass, synthetic (lab-grown) quartz sold without disclosure.
How to tell the real thing: Natural clear quartz almost always has small internal features — fine lines, phantoms, veils, or rainbow flashes. Flawless, perfectly clear points are suspicious. Real quartz is cool to the touch and doubles the image when a line is viewed through a thin cross-section (birefringence).
