About Malachite

Malachite is copper carbonate — its green is literal copper, its concentric banding formed layer by layer over millennia as copper-rich water seeped through limestone. It is one of the oldest pigments (the green of Egyptian eye paint) and one of the most powerful crystals in the healer's kit.

The Russian tsars covered entire rooms of the Winter Palace in malachite. Egyptian priests considered it sacred to Hathor. Modern healers use it with caution.

Healing Properties

The transformer. Pulls old emotional patterns to the surface so they can clear. Powerful, bold, not for the faint.

Chakra & Element

Malachite works primarily with the Heart chakra and the Fire / Earth element. This is why it tends to appear in healing work around heart-related concerns — the frequency of the crystal resonates with this energy centre.

How to Identify a Real Malachite

Common fakes: Dyed marble, polymer/resin, painted imitations.

How to tell the real thing: Real malachite has concentric banding — circles of alternating dark and light green — and the pattern is always asymmetric. Fakes are too regular. Real malachite is heavy and cool. Warning: malachite dust is toxic — never sand or abrade it.

At Agni Crystals, every piece is hand-inspected for authenticity before it’s listed. If you’re unsure about a crystal you bought elsewhere, send us a photo on WhatsApp — we’ll tell you honestly.
