Crystal Anatomy — Geode, Druzy, Point, Cluster, Tower & More
What every crystal form actually means — and which form fits which intention.
△
Crystal forms aren't decorative choices — each form directs energy differently. A point projects. A sphere radiates. A cluster covers an area. A geode contains. Knowing the vocabulary is the first step in choosing the right piece.
Tumble
Polished, rounded, palm-fitting. Most affordable form. Best for carrying in pockets, placing on the altar, or grids. Each tumble is 20–30mm typically.
Bracelet
Round beads strung on elastic. Worn on the wrist for daily contact. The most direct way to keep a crystal's field with you continuously.
Mala
108 prayer beads on a single string. Used for japa — the traditional repetitive meditation practice across Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Each bead marks one repetition.
Palm Crystal (Palmstone)
Smooth, oval, palm-sized. Designed to be held during meditation or anxious moments. Larger than a tumble, smaller than a sphere.
Heart
Carved into the heart shape. Held during heart-chakra work, grief, self-love practice. Often given as gifts.
Sphere / Ball
Radiates energy in all directions equally. Place on the altar or in a living space to fill the whole room with the crystal's frequency.
Point / Wand
Pointed at one end. Directs energy in the direction the point faces. Used in healing work, grids, and to charge other crystals.
Tower / Obelisk
Vertical four- or six-sided point. Focuses energy upward. Place on altars or at the centre of grids.
Cluster
Multiple natural points growing from a common base. Covers an area's energy (a desk, a bedside). Great for ongoing space-clearing.
Geode
A hollow rock with crystal-lined interior. The cave-form. Particularly powerful — the crystals have grown inward, holding energy. Citrine geodes are classic for wealth corners.
Druzy
Tiny crystal points coating a larger stone. The sparkling "sugar" texture. Druzy quartz, druzy agate — all amplify the underlying stone's properties through their crystal facets.
Raw / Natural
Unpolished, mined-and-cleaned form. Carries the strongest, most untamed frequency. Used by experienced practitioners who want the crystal's unfiltered field.
Free Form
Polished but kept in its natural irregular shape. Common for fine specimens like fire quartz or agate slabs. Both decorative and functional.
Lingam
Egg-shaped sacred form. Specifically Shiva-Shakti symbolism in Indian tradition. Used in puja and meditation. Labradorite lingams are particularly prized.
Wish Cave (Geode Pair)
Two halves of a geode that fit together. Whisper a wish into one half and close. A wishing form unique to certain crystals.
When choosing form, match it to where the crystal will live. On your body? Bracelet, mala, or pendant. On the altar? Sphere, tower, geode. In a room? Sphere or cluster. In your pocket? Tumble or palm crystal.
